Another brick in the wallTue 26 Sep 2017
Work at The Old Vinyl Factory is well underway, and so far, 2017 has seen many exciting areas of the development come to life.
The Record Store, where the masters of every EMI album were pressed, has been refurbished into over 84,000 sq ft of high-end office space. The six storey building has been thoughtfully designed by architects AHMM, and will be launched on 29 September 2017.
Another recently completed element of the regeneration is The Music Box car park. It will be used by tenants of the Record Store and the Shipping Building, which is already home to forward-thinking tech companies, Sonos, SITA, CHAMP Cargosystems, GoDaddy EMEA and the Central Research Laboratory. The Old Vinyl Factory's status as a global hotspot of technological innovation has raised exponentially.
As well as some of the major commercial elements of the site completing, this year has seen great progress on the residential elements, with The Material Store and The Boiler House set to complete in early 2018.
Once finished, The Old Vinyl Factory will be home to a bubbling community; it's rich history mirrored within the character of the buildings and the technological advancements that continues within them.
