Sow fresh!Mon 11 Dec 2017
When used properly your outdoor space can be one of the best parts of your home, which is why we want to help you make the most of yours. As well as your private balcony, you will have access to The Boiler House rooftop gardens, a space for you to relax, socialise and do a spot of gardening.
Your rooftop gardens will be home to several allotment patches, where you are free to grow and sow as much (or as little) as desired. Not a gardener? Not a problem. You can ask the friendly staff at Hillingdon's Rural Agricultural Garden Centre any questions you have. When it comes to gardening, the best thing is to just have a go!
There is much to be said for home grown food, and living in the city shouldn’t stop you from enjoying freshly picked fruit and veg. With allotments at your fingertips, you can grow whatever weird and wonderful produce you wish.
If you find that tinkering with your allotment patches simply isn’t enough for your green fingers, you’re in luck! Hillingdon is home to Ickenham and Swakeley’s Horticultural Society, a gardening club open to all ages which is working with local primary schools to encourage younger generations to grow their own produce.
